Join Us in Celebrating Kinship Caregivers and Acknowledging an Intentional Service Community
Building Communities on A Strong Foundation
Building Communities on a Strong Foundation (2nd Annual Caregivers' Gala)
With great excitement, we announce our 2nd CareGiver’s Gala. Last year, we were able to share the evening with over 120 community partners and kinship caregivers, to celebrate and support of kinship caregivers. This year’s event, we will continue upholding our belief in the power of community, through the acknowledgement and honoring of persons and organizations that have contributed to laying a strong foundation for service to kinship caregivers in South Carolina. We will also honor the individuals that are the intellects who composed the concept of Kinship Circles, which led to the establishment of Kindred Hearts! We invite you to be a part of this celebration!
Since 2019, Kindred Hearts has worked to identify and serve grandparents, aunts/uncles, older siblings, other family members and/or family friends who have accepted the responsibility for raising their kin’s children. Since the beginning of time some circumstance has required family to provide a safe and healthy home for a child when the biological parent(s) aren’t able to. Our programs allow us to meet members of this community and understand their needs to help them navigate the processes to access the resources needed to ensure they and the children in their care thrive. The board of directors and service team leaders of Kindred Hearts are motivated to bring awareness to kinship care; and, highlight the successes of a well-supported kinship care family.
On Saturday, September 28, 2024, Sierra Artemus, WISTV 10 Co-Host of Soda City Live, will lead us in the ceremonies at our 2nd CareGivers Gala. This event will allow kinship caregivers to be relieved of their caregiving duties; for a few hours, and enjoy a festive evening with other caregivers and community supporters. It’s our desire to present a formal event that will highlight a demonstrated truth, that a warranted service can be sustained when the servicemen are “Building on a Strong Foundation.”
Our financial goal for this year is $25,000, or more. These funds will be used to build and sustain kinship circles, caregivers’ fund, develop resource navigation strategies and enhance our volunteer case management and outreach programs. We are expecting an intimate crowd of at least two hundred and fifty people. We will appreciate your support in meeting the incurred expenses to guarantee its success. A successful event will yield the ability to sustain our efforts of “Caring for the Caregiver.”
See you on September 28!
